Black Friday Goodies
So I mentioned “shopping” as one of my annual Thanksgiving activities, and this year, of course, was no different. We didn’t wake up quite as early this year, but 4:40 is still early for me.
There wasn’t much in terms of electronics deals this year (I was looking for a good-priced 1 TB My Book Essential to rip home movies onto, but no such luck), so that ruled out Best Buy (a first for me), but I still managed to pick up a few things. In all honesty, I just love the rat race and the excitement of scoring a great bargain.
First, we stopped at Wal-mart of all places and I picked up a copy of a not-to-be-mentioned movie (possibly a gift!) and a 2GB SD card. Like I said, there wasn’t much that interested me. Corrie, my sister, got a Jonas Brothers CD. Imagine that! We were out with my uncle, cousin, and aunt (they’re brother and sister), and he had scouted out some specials at Lowe’s (a shop-vac regularly priced at $90 went for $19!), so we stopped there next. As they were looking at the plastic tubs (ooh, exciting…) I grabbed something truly useful, a small poinsettia. Yes, I went into Lowe’s at six o’clock in the morning and bought a flower. Worth it? Totally.
I’m hoping to pick up a WD Caviar 500 GB internal ATA drive from newegg later this week (building a server), but unfortunately, not today. I guess I’ll deal. That’s what happens when you’re a (basically) unemployed college kid. Luckily some online endeavors have given me enough money for the holidays, but the majority of my newly-acquired funds are “on hold” by PayPal and eBay until I ship the guitar I sold. Ugh, they always punish the honest ones…
Here’s to hoping next year the recession/slowdown’s over and the spectacular electronics deals return. One can only buy so many DVDs and Blu-ray discs…

Dude! Totally blow my cover bout the Jonas Brothers and then you don’t even tag me!
Ha! Oops… Fixed now.
ugh. That happened to me with the last thing I sold on eBay. Not very fun, is it?
definitely not. thankfully i got the big item ready to be picked up by the USPS tomorrow.
