Christmas

Christmas was wonderful this year. As usual, we went (and participated, of course!  Corrie, Courtney, Stuart, and I sang “What Child is This?,” and we also caroled, and read scripture) to the Christmas Eve services at the church.  As has been our tradition the past two years, we woke up a little late (hey, going to a midnight service does that to you!) on Christmas morning (around 9:45 today).  Grandma was over and we all sat in the back room and passed the Bible around, reading the Christmas story.  I think it is divinely amazing that Jesus was born the way he was; I mean think about it:  if he had been born a king, where would that leave the rest of us?  There’d be no hope.  The fact that he was born into a family supported by a lowly carpenter holds hope for the rest of us; our deeds in that respect do not determine our worth.  Gifting is one of my favorite Christmas traditions; it’s almost as fun as getting.  I got Corrie silver flower earrings with blue centers (and the senior picture of me she wanted- I know it sounds conceited, but it’s not really.  We told her we had picked others besides the one she wanted, so she was excited to get it).  For Dad I got “Band of Brothers,” and besides the language, it’s pretty good. Mom’s present from my was a silver iPod shuffle.  Needless to say, she’s pretty excited. She and Dad got me some great gifts, like a whole stack of clothes and iLife ‘08.  I even got a starter kit for my iPod that has a house charger, a car charger, an extra Dock Connector to USB cable, and an FM transmitter.  Corrie got me a great Needtobreathe CD, “The Heat.” I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and has a Blessed New Year! Caleb.
